Iparu is an OverWorld Elementalist previewed as part of Silent Sands.

Character Origins[]

Iparu lives in a mystical hidden forest in the middle of the desert, known as the Iparu Jungle. Iparu always protects it to the best of his ability.

Appearance[]

Iparu has an aquaeous appearance, being only blue with hints of green. Untrannsformed, he has two legs and four arms.

Background Information[]

Iparu may have been protecting his jungle home for the reasons Rothar pointed out in their battle, to prevent the location from becoming a base where the UnderWorlders could launch raids on the Overworld from and "retreat to, never to be found". Iparu can shift his form and tactics to match other beings, both in and outside of combat.

Personality and Behavior[]

Iparu is friendly and means no harm. He along with Maxxor and Chaor once defeated Aa'une the Oligarch together in order to put an end to the war with the M'arrillians. Despite his abilities allowing him to be the perfect spy, he prefers to study the nature of the Elements.

Affiliations, Loyalties and All[]

Iparu showed great loyalty to the Overworld by coming out of hiding in order to help Maxxor defeat Aa'une.

Insight on Card Abilities[]

Strategies[]

The Original Iparu should not be used in a discipline deck, as his disciplines vary depending on the creature he is engaged with. Instead, focus on his Fire and Air elements, which do not vary in combat. Iparu's main advantage is being able to neutralize decks reliant on stat Challenges, as unless the opponent can boost their Disciplines or lower Iparu's, Challenges will always fail. This allows Iparu to check creatures like Clodor and Erak'tabb.

Iparu, Metallic Ally is versatile but inconsistent, as his effectiveness in combat is entirely dependent on how the opponent's army synergizes with your own deck. It is impossible to build a deck around him as you cannot plan for all possible transformations without making your cards incredibly inconsistent. Unlike the regular Iparu, Metallic Ally can choose what creature to transform into and gains their abilities, so look for Creatures that either can use your Locations and attacks or, failing that, ones with strong supportive abilities that Iparu can use. Note that Metallic Ally targets a Creature, meaning that he cannot transform into Creatures with Challor or high-Wisdom Creatures with AZAIA Mindprobe.
