Garv is a OverWorld creature.

Appearance[]

Garv is a bulbous Creature, who resembles a hippo/manatee-like creature with large dark markings adorning his shoulders, back and arms. He walks on two legs and often carries a crude staff as a walking stick. He appears calm and perfectly attuned to his surroundings. His card image suggests his peacefulness as he is seen with a white bird upon his finger (resembles a dove) showing his caring nature.

Background Information[]

One of many OverWorld Caretakers, Garv keeps careful watch over Lake Morn. He spends most of his time patrolling the lake shore and swimming in the lake’s frigid waters. Garv was among the first OverWorlders to realize that the Danian Tribe had its own aquatic subculture led by Tassanil, the keeper of the Reservoir beneath Mount Pillar. Garv is eager to reach the Reservoir so he can study these Danians but he’s been unable to …so far.

Garv is also an associate of PeytonicMaster who then introduced him to MajorTom to assist the Blight in Prexxor Chasm. After the Chaotic Player retrieved a sample of the Blight, the Caretaker managed to create a serum that would cure it.

After the M'arrillian Invasion, Garv was part of the OverWorld Effort to clean up The Riverlands, along with Najarin and Unda.

Special Abilities[]

Garv is a skilled Mugic-user and has discovered an interesting way to use Mugical energy. He is able to both activate and deactivate Battlegear through the use of Mugic – truly a powerful ability.

Strategies[]

Garv has a very flexible ability, allowing him to flip utility gear that does not start face-up (such as Hornsabre) or disable strong enemy gear like Muge's Tuningfork. He can also provide a decent advantage in combat by flipping down dangerous enemy gear like Evergreen Tunic or negating the enemy's attempts at doing the same with the likes of Surprising Riffs. Garv's limited Mugic ability means that knowing what gear to prioritize is paramount to using his ability well, which in turn means predicting what opposing creatures are likely to have equipped and whether your own Battlegear will be important to help your fighters survive the battles ahead.
